2016 Yea Bull Sale Results

2016 Violet Hills Charolais 2nd Southern Sale, Yea 24th February 2016.

Violet Hills had a complete clearance at our 2nd Southern Bull Sale held at Yea livestock selling centre.

The 32 bulls averaged $4890.00 with a top price of $8000.00 being paid for Violet Hills Kidman(P) by Greg and Jeanette McGrath, St.Clair Charolais, Jeetho, Vic.

The top priced bull, Violet Hills Kidman, is one of the most complete bulls in the breed for grass fed beef production. With a Domestic Index of $70 and an Export Index Index of $94 he ranks in the top 10 Charolais born in 2014. He is an extremely easy doing, genuinely early maturing bull with an excellent temperament and tremendous carcase characteristics. His fertility,calving ease and milking attributes should ensure his female offspring are outstanding cows.We have retained a semen share in Kidman. Congratulations to Greg and Jeanette McGrath for purchasing such an outstanding bull.

We have also retained semen from two other bulls, Violet Hills Knightly(P) and Violet Hills Kentucky(P), that were sold in our Southern Sale. These bulls were sold to E.J. Anthony & Son, Stanley, Tasmania for $7500.00 and $7000.00, respectively.
